Thanks to all the men and women of Graybar who have served in the military during our 150-year history. During these critical times, Graybar worked to provide the military and the defense industry with necessary supplies and provide jobs for veterans coming home.

Thanks to all of the brave men and women, especially those on the Graybar team, who put their lives on the line to keep our country safe.

During World War II, Graybar advertising manager Herbert Metz wrote, “We are keeping records of our employees in the Services, in order to be as sure as we humanly can that our boys and girls when they come back are placed [in jobs] quickly and effectively.”

St. Louis Honors Heroes

Graybar has always been committed to honoring the men and women who serve our country. We are proud to continue that tradition this year by sponsoring a new segment on KMOV4 in St. Louis called “Spotlight on Those Who Served,” which features stories from local veterans.

St. Louis residents can watch the segment on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. and Sundays at 6:00 a.m. on KMOV Channel 4. Episodes are also available online at https://www.kmov.com/news/spotlight_on_those_who_served/.

On Saturday, November 9, a group of St. Louis employees participated in the St. Patrick Center Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk. The event was sponsored by Graybar and helped to raise awareness for veteran homelessness.

Throughout the month of November, all St. Louis-area locations are holding a collection drive for Operation Gratitude.

Operation Gratitude sends individually-addressed care packages to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines deployed overseas and to their children left behind. Care packages are also distributed to New Recruits, Veterans, First Responders, Wounded Heroes and their caregivers. Each package contains food items, hygiene products, entertainment, handmade items, and handwritten letters of support.

Folds of Honor

In August, Graybar Albany hosted a golf fundraiser at The Country Club of Troy to benefit Folds of Honor, an organization that provides scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members. More than 20 customers, 13 vendors and many local business leaders participated in the fundraiser with the Graybar team. The fundraiser raised more than $26,400 for this worthy cause.

Operation Restoring Veteran Hope

For the second year in a row, Graybar Phoenix helped support Operation Restoring Veteran Hope Retreat. Employees filled backpacks with toiletries and donated $3,000 to the cause. The retreat provides counselling sessions as well as various activities to veterans.
