2019 is a big year for Graybar – the company is celebrating its 150th anniversary AND 90 years of employee ownership. It’s also a big year for one of our very own retirees.

On April 17, Graybar Allentown Retiree Robert “Bob” Danner turned 100 years old! To celebrate, his family threw him a birthday party – complete with a visit from Graybar Allentown, PA Branch Manager Rick M., Director of Electrical Sales Scott K. and Manager, Lighting Business Development Meghan S.

The Graybar team presented him with a birthday card signed by the Allentown branch employees and a letter from Chairman, President and CEO Kathy Mazzarella. He also received a challenge coin to honor his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II, as well as Graybar mugs and shirts.

Bob was hired at Graybar in 1939 and retired from the company in 1974.  He worked in the Allentown branch throughout his entire Graybar career, where he served in a variety of roles, including service, sales, quotations and management.

Happy 100th Birthday, Bob!
