Graybar Takes Steps to End Pancreatic Cancer at PanCAN PurpleStride San Francisco
Graybar is pleased to sponsor the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) at PanCAN PurpleStride San Francisco, the walk to end pancreatic cancer on Saturday, April 30.
Team Graybar will once again walk in honor of former District Vice President and Board Member Ken Sparks, who lost his battle to pancreatic cancer in February 2014. Graybar’s employees and their families have raised more than $5,000 this year to support PanCAN’s mission to save lives. Since 2014, the Graybar team, along with customers and suppliers, have raised nearly $200,000 to support pancreatic cancer research.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers with a five-year survival rate of just 10 percent. In 2021, an estimated 60,430 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and more than 48,000 will die from the disease, making it the third leading cause of cancer-related death in the U.S.
